THE NEXT BEST PICTURE: Interview With “Zurawski v Texas” Co-Director Abbie Perrault

By Ema Sasic

“Zurawski v Texas” had its world premiere at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, where it received overwhelmingly positive reviews for holding a microscope under the women in Texas who have been denied abortions despite life-threatening circumstances and are joining forces with a lawyer to file a lawsuit against the state, aiming to restore reproductive rights for themselves and others. Co-Director Abbie Perrault was kind enough to spend some time speaking with us about her work on the documentary, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which is making its way through various film festivals and is still seeking U.S. distribution. The film is up for your consideration at this year’s Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature. Thank you, and enjoy!
